We came across many news about shows getting cancelled in Pakistan soon after the abrogation of Article 370. Artists were not allowed to perform in Pakistan. Many artists even came in favour of this while some of them raised their voice against it. Well, another set of news has come forward.
Apparently FWICE(Film Body Federation of Western India Cine Employees) has asked singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh not to perform at a show in the US that is being promoted by a Pakistani national Rehan Siddiqi.
The show was supposed to happen on 21st September. The FWICE has expressed his concern in a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs.

How Did Diljit Dosanjh Respond To This?
Diljit has responded about the whole situation from his twitter handle. He wrote “I was not aware of any such intimation by the federation before today. However, in lieu of the letter by FWICE, I have decided to postpone by Houston show at this time. I love my country and will always stand for the greater interests of the nation.”
What Did FWICE Had Said About The Situation?
FWICE has asked Dosanjh to “cancel his commitment in the interests, sentiments and dignity of the nation”. In another letter to the Ministry of External Affairs, the film body has also requested the actor-singer and his troupe’s visa be revoked in case he does not cancel the tour. The letter has been shared on Twitter.
One of the letters shared by FWICE read as, “We at FWICE want to draw your kind attention towards the unbridled race of Artists/Singers/Dancers/Performers at the behest of a Pak National Mr Rehan Siddiqi promoter of shows in America despite strict warnings given to them. Mr Dosanjh is a gentleman and a superb actor/singer but he was allured by the Pak National. His performance for the Pak National and people will set a wrong precedent in view of the current situation between the nations.“
The letter also puts forward the fact that if Dosanjh does not cancel his performance the visa of Dosanjh and his team will be cancelled and they will be called as anti-nationals.
Was It Really Necessary?
Is it really necessary that artists should not perform even when a Pakistani national is involved in the act? What do you think banning actors and performers are going to help the tensions between the countries?
