A few hours ago trailer of Film Gold arrived on Youtube. Written and directed by Reema Kagti GOLD is basically from the “golden era” of India. Movies done by Akshay Kumar are always on the issues of the nation that touches every single citizen in some way. The leading roles of finest actor of B-town Akshay Kumar always bring out the change, and when not the change then at least a strong initiative from his versatile acting. Apparently, that is what leaves a mark on people always.
Reema Kagti’s film is based on the time when our India was struggling for independence.
A historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal. The film traces the “golden era” of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent nation.
Being a Bengali film it becomes very important for the characters to maintain the accent to keep the connectivity with the audience. Thankfully actors worked well with the Bengali accent. Along with Akshay Kumar playing the lead role as (Tapan Das), actors like, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Singh, Sunny Kaushal & Nikita Dutta are also a part of this film.
Gold is coming as a movie debut for TV actress Mouni Roy who is playing the role of a wife of Tapan Das.
The edition of Indian flag approved in the year 1931 is also a part of the film. It feels like the makers are keeping the historic moment alive. Amit Sadh will play a focal role in the movie.
Kunal Kapoor was recently asked about his experience of working with Akshay Kumar, he said
“He is very easy to work with and he is also somebody I have a great amount of admiration for because he is somebody who has constantly reinvented the way. You know he was somebody who started as an action hero, then he was somebody who was associated with comedy films, now he has changed that and is associated with content that is socially relevant.”
“I cannot think of many other actors who have reinvented themselves like Akshay has”, Kunal Added.
